At The Grand America, giving back to the community is a big part of what we do. In 2009, we began our support of the Utah Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a foundation whose mission is dedicated to finding a cure. By bringing awareness to this important cause, our goal is to accelerate more quickly toward the discovery of a cure and help support our local Utah children who bravely suffer each day.
In 2011, The Grand America Hotel, the Salt Lake Education Foundation, and the Salt Lake City School District announced a partnership that enables a new and unique teacher recognition program. Instead of being based on nominations and anecdotal stories like other recognition programs, this innovative program recognizes teachers based on data, specifically growth in student achievement.
Since 2009, we have hosted an array of holiday events raising nearly $20,000 to support JDRF.
